Paddling across Katahdin Lake to "Painter's Beach", we stopped to view and paint the scene Frederick Church Painted over 100 years ago.

I completed a small canvas and decided to pack up due to the threatening rain showers. Suddenly, a small float plane  swooped overhead and landed further down the lake.I quickly added it to my painting. (Having been an air traffic controller for nearly 30 years planes are easy for me to create!) When we arrived back at the dock a group of women were standing there. I showed them my painting and asked, "Who just flew in? I caught your landing on canvas!"

One lady spoke up, "No one flew in, we hiked in", she said.

"Well, I just painted the float plane landing here." I said questioning.

"Oh that was our wine, we had it flown in because it was too heavy to carry!"

And now you know the rest of the story!
