Painted at my dear friends' home in Surry, Maine, a lonely sailboat anchored during a rainy and foggy summer day. The ocean was relatively quiet, and low and behold a blow spout of a minke whale was seen just 20 feet further into the bay from the shore!!!! What a sight watching and listening to this graceful animal as it swam up the coast line, then, one hour later we saw it return back to the sea!
