During an artist retreat held by the Bangor Art Society in 2019, we traveled to Lubec Maine. We stayed at the old Coast Guard barracks at West Quoddy Station House. Down the road is this quintessential Maine Lighthouse, West Quoddy Head Light. The first Director of the US. Coast Guard was Admiral Yeaton who served here under George Washington. Admiral Yeaton is a direct descendant of my husband! I had to paint this Super Moon as it splashed over the surf and was brighter than the man made rays from the top of the striped tower!
